Equipped with two bikes older than they are themselves, Bastian and Hans will be cycling from Bristol and Nottingham to Watford (just north of London) and from there on to Frankfurt, Germany – a treacherous distance of 1000km over the course of 10 days through the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and finally Germany.

We can only make it happen with your help!

In support of the children’s charity WorldVision the purpose of Mission Cobblestone is to raise £2000 – sufficient to supply 30+ bicycles to children in the Third World. Here in Europe a bike is something that we mostly keep in the garage and forget about (or, seldom, something we are completely crazy about, as in Bastian’s case). But in Cambodia or Zambia, where over 44% of the children aged 5 to 14 years are working, a bike can help carry loads and cover greater distances in less time. It can be the difference between being able to go to school or never getting to know the world we enjoy every day!

And it is for these children that we want to make a difference – but we can only make it happen with your help! With the goal of raising £2000 over the 1000km we cycle, that’s just £2 for every kilometre. So whether it’s one, two or ten kilometres, please help us to cover the entire 1000km all the way to Frankfurt!!!

We would hugely appreciate you sponsoring us – even just a small amount. A sincere thank you in advance for any financial support you provide!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. For UK taxpayers, be sure to reclaim “Gift Aid” on every eligible donation. You can donate in any currency, just enter the amount you wish to donate in pounds, and the equivalent amount will be debited. As it is a British charity, there are sadly no tax benefits for donors outside the UK. We greatly appreciate any financial support – even a small amount – you provide for this excellent cause.

As this is our first charity project, words of encouragement are very welcome so that we can master this challenge. We would also be glad about any suggestions you might have regarding someone who you think might be interested in sponsoring us (on a bigger scale); after all it’s for a good cause!

Many thanks and best wishes,

Bastian & Hans :-)
